About Me

"Find a job you love, and you will never have to work a day in your life".

Mark Twain

This is my dream job.  It combines my interests and passions, areas of strength, where I feel I can make a difference and provides a service the world needs!

I have always been interested in my own and others’ personal development, the business world, societal and economic change, and how it affects the industry and the built environment. I enjoy meeting new people, learning new things and doing new activities.

After leaving University with degrees in Business and Marketing and Construction with a Masters thesis on  “Business Strategy to Survive Recession”, I have now spent 30 years in the industry in Strategic Business Development, twenty of them in-house and twelve running my own business.

During this time I’ve gained experience in business development in its broadest sense. I first assisted teams that were new to work-winning in a privatised government department before enabling a Local Authority start-up “green” community business to earn a profit. Over the following fifteen years I have helped businesses navigate the ups and downs of rapid growth, unexpected funding cuts, a pandemic, recession, acquisition and mergers, helped with their plans to enter new markets abroad and in the UK, develop new services, and embrace innovation and new technologies.

Personally, I strive to be the best mum, wife, sister, daughter, friend and schnauzer owner.  I enjoy the fun and challenges that come from hiking, running and rowing whilst also  finding relaxation in socialising and gardening.  I am currently taking additional training in business coaching whilst also serving as a mentor for Enterprise Nation’s Help to Grow Programme and the Princes Trust.
